The Student Code of Conduct forms part of a Student Management Program, including 'Assertive Discipline' in the classrooms. Parents will be given a notice of the class discipline program. Details of the Student Code of Conduct in our school charter are available to be printed off from the Forms page, or are available from the office on request.

The code of Conduct for Students at Oberon South Primary School has been formulated within and is consistent with Department of Education, Employment and Training guidelines and regulations as set out in the Student Code of Conduct handbook 1994
The underlying purpose of the Oberon South Student Code of Conduct is to provide a behaviour modelt at will develop and enhance the school's values and practice of COOPERATION, COURTESY, RESPECT and RESPONSIBILITY.
The school community believes that all children have the right to interact and develop in a safe and supportive environment. Our Code of Conduct is based on the right of each child to be treated as an individual. Positive reinforcement of appropriate behaviour underpins our school ethos.
The school's assertive discipline policy is designed to reduce the inappropriate behaviour that occurs in our school environment. An important part of this policy is the disapproval of the behaviour, not the child. The focus upon the negative impact that inappropriate behaviour has upon others is the key to this program achieving its aims.
The policy is also designed to include Restorative Practices. Students are more likely to make positive behavioural changes and be cooperative and productive when those in positions of authority do things with them rather than to them.
